A tin statue of Ho Chi Minh, shining up the river side in Can Tho.
We spent a good day today in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho. River trips are proving to be a great way to see life in Southeast Asia. We set off at 530 am, before the sunrise this morning to see a couple of floating markets. The rest of our morning was spent taking in the scenery along the Mekong river. Other than the hazardous plastic bags floating in the water, that kept getting stuck in the boat motor, and our boat driver who was supposed to speak English and didn't know a word, and the fact that we didn't go to the rice paper factory or the noodle factory like we were promised we would, we had an uneventful trip.
We actually had a great day! The weather was beautiful, the scenery was great, and so was the company. I'll let the pictures do the rest of the talking.
